Original Water colour of Old Machynys Farm, Llanelli.
This watercolour looks back at the old Machynys farm and the row of houses that once stood here. It was a quiet corner of Llanelli with fields, stone walls and small cottages looking out across the land.
Today the landscape has changed completely — the Machynys golf resort now stands where these homes and fields once were. The old farm itself still survives, but it sits hidden and overgrown, slowly becoming derelict.
Paintings like this are a way of holding on to those places and memories that have disappeared from the landscape.
